Honey
Honey is a commonly used sweetener in the United States. It's used to sweeten and flavor all sorts of delicious foods and drinks, including coffee, tea, baked goods, sauces and more. The National Honey Board, a federal research brand under the USDA, reports that honey over-delivers across all of the top 20 purchase drivers for sweeteners. It is chosen because of its naturalness, flavor, familiarity, and purity.*
Honey in drinks
Honey can be used on its own to sweeten drinks, but taking the time to add water and prepare a honey syrup can improve mixability and make it much easier and faster to use in your early morning caffeine-routine.
Below, you'll find two quick recipes for honey syrup; one with a little more water and one with a little less. We refer to this as a simple syrup (1:1 ratio of sugar to water) and a rich syrup (2:1 ratio of sugar to water).
