Scottish Caramel Puer Tea

A modern and unique blend, Scottish Caramel Puer balances the earthiness of a good puer tea with warm, dessert flavors such as chocolate and caramel. It's desired for it's rich, nutty flavor and sweet aroma.

What is Scottish Caramel Puer tea?

This tea blend was inspired by another local tea shop. Our scottish caramel puer is a house blend that's made from an earthy puer tea base, toasted almonds, cacao shells, and both almond and caramel extracts. We hand blend this tea locally in San Diego, California.

This tea is a great example of blending traditional tastes and modern tastes. It uses a ripe puer with complex earthy flavors, and is paired with familiar flavors in almond, chocolate, and caramel. Even the blend's name ("Scottish Caramel") pays tribute to the many bold and earthy breakfast tea blends that are popular in the U.K. It's a little bit of old-school and a little bit of new-school.

How to enjoy Scottish Caramel Puer tea

Scottish Caramel Puer tea produces a velvety, rich cup of tea with fragrant caramel and chocolate notes. We recommend brewing this in the western style for a nice cup of milk tea. It goes really well with milk and sugar which enhances the buttery and nutty flavors this tea has to offer.

Author's note: I think this is a milk tea that goes really well with a wide range of toppings. At Tea Bar, a lot of people get it with honey boba but I personally like it with contrasting toppings, like tofu pudding or chyrsanthemum jelly. Since it's already a complex flavor profile, adding different toppings can help add even more depth to it.
