This tea is a Japanese favorite, but contrasts most other Japanese teas. In addition to being steamed, hojicha goes through a final roasting stage that leaves it with a much lower caffeine content than most other teas and gives it a strong roasted flavor. This hojicha is ground into a powder similar to matcha, making the resulting drink thicker.

We recommend trying this in many dimensions, as a hot or iced drink, plain or with sugar and milk, and after dinnertime after a long day.
